Starting with a milestone, we've been actively developing the AlignUI Design System for over 200 days. As for the past week, it has been particularly busy as we've focused on redesigning our website for the beta release and working on the documentation. As mentioned in last week's update, we're now only two steps away from the beta release. Let's take a closer look at our progress.
🌐 Progress on Website Redesign
In the past week, we dedicated our efforts to redesign our website. We had numerous brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas. Our main goal was clear: the website should communicate that AlignUI Design System is comprehensive and, at the same time, it needs to be attention-grabbing.
With a well-defined objective, we developed an exciting concept for the hero section of the website. We're creating the website using Framer, so the initial design is happening in Figma, and the finishing touches will be added in Framer before it's published.
🗂️ Nearly Completed Documentation
We've been working diligently on our documentation for a significant amount of time. Our aim was to assist users by providing an overview of each component with descriptions, guidelines on the best ways to use them, and real-case examples for guidance and inspiration.
In summary, we've completed 12 more documentations for various components. Here's the list of components with completed documentation:
- Date Picker
- Dropdown
- File Upload
- Key Components
- Modals
- Pagination
- Progress Bar
- Radio
- Ratings
- Slider
- Step Indicator
- Tab Menu
For the remaining several components, their drafts are ready, and they're awaiting final documentation. These components include:
- Table
- Tag
- Text Area
- Text Input
- Toggle
- Switch Toggle
- Tooltip
While we do plan to provide documentation for Application Components such as Navigation, Headers, Widgets, and Empty States, this will take more time and could cause delays. So, our plan is to offer documentation for these Application Components after the beta version is released. In the meantime, you'll have access to the documentation, examples and prototypes for Core Elements and Base Components.
By the next week, the documentation for Core Elements and Base Components will be done. After, we'll focus entirely on the website, ensuring it meets all the requirements for a beta release design system product.
